Back to clay...

Coming back for fall classes meanss that I finally have resources to work with clay again.  I have been anxiously awaiting the BFA ceramics class I am enrolled in with my favorite ceramics guru, Holly Hanessian.

Since the class is mostly MFA students and pretty much split down the middle between those who have experience in clay and those who don't, our projects and individual research projects are on different timelines.  For our first project, we are supposed to create an object with coils, slabs, and a carved solid.

These are just some test pieces that we are required to make in order to test textures and glazes. I made artichokes because they are so pretty and yummy!

The nights were just so beautiful last week from the cool air of those hurricanes, so I was wedging and forming out on the back porch with the sweet, sweet sound of Cody's guitar playing.
