Back to Bottles

New project #2.  I woke up this morning and knew that I had to attend to the mess that is my home studio.  It turned out not to be such a big clean-up and I sat staring at a twisted ceramic bottle from last semester.

So I thought, "Let's play today."

And this is what I came up with.  I worked with fleshy-colored watercolors and wax to create a bodily appearance.  I was experimenting with the anthropomorphic nature of the bottle's shape.

I think this is a good start.  Hopefully there shall be more to come.

Newest pictures...

I'm back after a temporary hiatus to avoid smashing my Fujifilm compact into a million pieces with a freaking sweet new Canon DSLR.
After the beach. After the tattoo. After lunch with my best friends. Before a great night out. My day was made when the ice cream man drove by as soon as we got home. Here is the lovely Emma. These began as pictures trying to explore Sally Mann's Candy Cigarette, but turned into just playing around in the driveway. For the record, I do not smoke, nor do I condone smoking real cigarettes.

oh sweet sweet summer

Loving:
sitting on the pier
playing games at friends' houses
sitting in bed all day
clouds
being home
